Amir:
I followed your thought process but can you provide the mechanics:
1) what type of automatic scanner did you use & did each person access their own during tax season or was it centrally done?
2) Do you burn CD discs for each client & what method did you layout to identify the tax return from the supporting documents when its scanned in?
3) What is the best layout for doing all this?
4) Assuming you start this season's tax return and leaving out prior years tax return for another period to copy then what types of equipment (specify model) & how its to be used and what errors to avoid.
5) How do you test the retrieval of data & do you monitor quality of scanned items?

Do you have a paperless for Dummies? Its got to be more detailed to eliminate mistakes & thus more beneficial to understand time spent, monies invested, & outcome savings if any.

Technology is nice but its interesting to know how to minimize mistakes . Let me know if you have any answers. Thank you Edward Hara email:abacus7600@aol.com
